Kindergarten: This month Rose Tree Kindergarten celebrated Veteran's Day by learning about the holiday. Students learned that every year on November 11th our country honors all Americans who serve or served to protect our country. They learned about the different branches of the military. Students also brought in red stars with the names of their family members who served to add to the Rose Tree Veterans hallway display.
First Grade: Students learned about different forms of artwork that come from tribal nations from the Pacific Northwest. Students also read the story "Raven: A Trickster Tale from the Pacific Northwest". Attached is a picture of students and their collages that were inspired by the Raven from the folktale. Second Grade: Second graders at Rose Tree enjoyed a beary special history lesson on Theodore Roosevelt Day! Students were invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to school and took part in literature, math, art, and history activities to learn about President Roosevelt’s life and accomplishments. It was a fun and memorable way to celebrate his October 27th birthday and the creation of the teddy bear in his honor.
Third Grade: Our third graders recently had a blast playing a fun, hands-on science game all about pollination! In this two-player card game, students took on the roles of bees and flowers, working together to explore how pollination helps plants grow. The activity encouraged collaboration, teamwork, and scientific thinking as students learned how bees play a vital role in helping flowers reproduce. It was a great way to blend learning and play while deepening their understanding of ecosystems and the importance of pollinators!
Fourth Grade: The 4th grade students at RTE are bringing history to life with a reader’s theater performance as they prepare for their next CLKA unit on the Middle Ages. Through expressive reading and character roles, they’re building background knowledge and getting excited to explore this fascinating time period.
Fifth Grade: The 5th grade students practiced for and participated in the Veterans Day parade through Media. Our parade was led by three students who have close family connections to veterans and the military. The 5th graders wore their matching Rose Tree hats and waved American flags as we passed through town.
